REVIEWED: SHERATON SHARJAH BEACH RESORT AND SPA, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Rate this post

Sharjah is an increasingly popular destination for travelers seeking to explore a more traditional and cultural emirate while being located just a few minutes away from Dubai…

Destination Dubai introduces you to a unique 5-star resort in this emirate: the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa…

Getting there

The emirate of Sharjah is adjacent to Dubai. It is the third-largest emirate in the country by population and area.

It is extremely easy to get to Sharjah from Dubai or from any of the other emirates. You can take several highways that will take you directly into the heart of the city. The emirate is also adjacent to Dubai International Airport. If you land in Dubai, you can reach Sharjah in just a few minutes. Sharjah also has its own international airport.

The hotel is located exactly at the border with the emirate of Ajman, along a shared corniche.

The setting

Located directly by the sea, the hotel boasts an exceptional setting and directly faces the beautiful waterfront and Al Muntazah Beach connecting the emirates of Sharjah and Ajman.

The Sheraton Sharjah Resort & Spa is built in a typical Emirati style. The building’s architecture resembles the homes and villages of the early years of the country. Those familiar with Dubai’s Bastakiya district will recognize the distinctive style of the sand-colored historic buildings with their characteristic wind towers.

The hotel consists of 349 rooms and suites spread across a main building and two wings. In the middle, you’ll find the resort’s two pools and the waterfront with a private beach.

The hotel’s Arab heritage is also reflected in the decoration, with arabesques, mosaics, forged iron Arabic lamps, and typical Islamic arches. Architecture enthusiasts will delight in this magnificent setting, providing unique photo opportunities, especially at sunrise and sunset.

"Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa combines all the ingredients for a successful stay in the emirate of Sharjah.”

THE ROOMS

The hotel offers its guests no fewer than 349 rooms in 13 different categories. Our Deluxe room, in fact, resembled a small suite with a vast living area and a very spacious bathroom that included both a shower and a bathtub. In the room, a lounge area consisted of a sofa and armchair with a coffee table that could serve as a workspace, as well as a conventional work area.

The decoration of the rooms at the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa is understated yet elegant. Framed photos on the walls recall the maritime heritage of the country and its pearl fishermen.

The rooms are extremely comfortable, especially thanks to the Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience beds that have earned the luxury hotel brand its reputation and guarantee an absolutely fantastic sleep: tried and tested!

Leisure & Well-being

The Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa has 2 pools directly facing the hotel’s private beach and located between the two wings of the hotel. Two gyms are available to guests, one for men and one reserved for women.

Children can also enjoy a dedicated pool and an outdoor play area.

The hotel has a splendid private beach where you can relax on the sun loungers and under the provided umbrellas.

Shine is the spa at the Sheraton Sharjah Resort & Spa. Spanning two floors and covering an area of 1,000 square meters, it offers separate sections for men and women, as well as no fewer than 15 massage and body treatment rooms.

Each section has an impressive fitness area that includes a large Jacuzzi, a sauna, a hammam, a chilled room, hydro-massage showers, and a relaxation room. Access to the facility is free for all guests booking a treatment or massage at the spa, or costs only AED 50 for unlimited access throughout the stay.

A wide range of massages is available at the Shine Spa, including a 60-minute aromatherapy massage, Thai and Balinese massages, and a Swedish massage.

Several facial treatments are also available, as well as special treatments and massages for feet, hands, back, or shoulders for those who wish to focus particularly on these parts of the body.

Packages are also available, including special treatments for brides-to-be, couples, or traditional hammam treatments.

We opted for the 60-minute aromatherapy massage. A true sensory awakening for a gentle massage using essential oils, followed by a dip in the spa’s Jacuzzi and a session in the sauna and hammam.

That was enough to beautifully complete our unforgettable stay at the Sheraton Sharjah Resort & Spa…

CULINARY EXPERIENCES

Gusti

This is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. You will find a quality international buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with open kitchens.

Marasea

Sheraton’s seafood specialty restaurant. Upon entering, you’ll notice that the restaurant’s decoration perfectly matches the theme, with aquariums containing swimming fish and fresh lobsters, boat ropes suspended from the ceiling, and a display of fresh fish offering customers the catch of the day.

Marasea offers several dinner options. Confused by the wide choice in front of us, we opted for the gourmet seafood basket for two. The basket includes two lobsters, a whole fish, fresh mussels and clams, a whole crab, squid, and shrimp.

You’ll have the entire ocean on your plate and you can ask the restaurant’s chef to cook or prepare each seafood item according to your preferences. The seafood platter is accompanied by Asian-style vegetables and fried rice.

The portion is more than sufficient for two people, and we even struggled to finish it! We also highly recommend the restaurant’s mocktails, which are absolutely incredible.

The restaurant also offers other options, including a customizable menu consisting of a soup of the day and a main course of your choice from a wide selection of seafood, including a mussel basket, clams, giant shrimp, a lobster, a crab basket, or a whole fish. The menu is complemented by a dessert.

You’ll also have the option to choose your meal directly from the seafood display by weight and can thus ask the chefs to prepare them according to your preferences.

Al Qubtan

Al Qubtan is the beachfront restaurant at the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa. Set in a comfortable environment with a direct view of the sea, you can choose from a wide range of international dishes on the restaurant’s menu.

Salads, soups, pasta, pizza, risottos, and a selection of meats are all part of the restaurant’s menu. So, everyone will find something to satisfy their culinary desires…

Arjwan

Arjwan is the Emirati restaurant of the hotel, named after a turquoise desert flower that was used by Bedouins for its therapeutic benefits.

Turquoise blue is also the dominant color of the restaurant, beautifully decorated in an Arabo-modern style. For our experience at Arjwan, we enjoyed our dinner comfortably seated on the sofas arranged in the alcoves carved into the restaurant’s walls.

Arjwan offers a mix of typical Emirati cuisine and Middle Eastern cuisine, including some North African dishes such as tajine.

We trusted the restaurant’s chef, who prepared a menu for us consisting of hot and cold mezzes as an appetizer, followed by Mandi and Moroccan Tajine.

Mandi is a regional dish composed of roasted and smoked chicken or lamb and rice seasoned with various spices, usually enjoyed with a yogurt-based sauce and other accompaniments. We concluded our culinary journey at Arjwan with a selection of regional pastries.

FINAL VERDICT

Located on the beachfront, with quality leisure facilities, quick and easy access from other emirates and various airports, the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa combines all the ingredients for a successful stay in the emirate of Sharjah.

The quality and variety of the hotel’s culinary offerings are also remarkable and appreciated.

Marasea restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best places in the Emirates if you’re looking for fresh seafood at very affordable prices.

Our favorite hotel for a vacation in Sharjah!
