the experience

The vessel that awaited us was a masterpiece in itself – a sleek and powerful speed boat designed to conquer the waves with style and grace. As I stepped on board, the boat’s modern and polished exterior immediately caught my eye. Its streamlined silhouette and cutting-edge design hinted at the thrilling adventure that lay ahead. With seating arrangements thoughtfully organized, the boat was primed to accommodate about 12 passengers, ensuring an intimate and personalized experience.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the sight of two hot springs sending bursts of steamy water up to 20 meters high into the air. The original temperature of the water surpasses 100 degrees Celsius, gradually cooling down as the wind caresses it, creating a perfect environment for indulging in a mineral bath.

San Kamphaeng Hot Springs
Named after its original location in the San Kamphaeng district of Chiang Mai, the hot springs have become a haven for visitors seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. The natural heat of the water is so intense that you can even boil an egg in it – an intriguing experience that I couldn’t resist trying. Boiling eggs and enjoying them with a dash of soy sauce amidst the serene surroundings is a unique memory I’ll cherish.

San Kamphaeng Hot Springs offers a range of activities, from foot soaking to traditional mineral baths, and even a mineral swimming pool. While enjoying these therapeutic waters, I found myself immersed in the beauty of the flower gardens and the tranquil mountains, creating a sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere.

The entrance fee of 100 baht was a small price to pay for the wealth of experiences that awaited me. At the entrance, I had the chance to purchase quail and hen eggs in woven bamboo baskets, ready to be boiled in special tanks within the park. Cooking eggs in the hot springs felt like a blend of relaxation and culinary adventure.

Sankampang Hot Springs is not only a place of relaxation but also a hub of wellness. The high sulphur content in the water provides various health benefits, including improved blood circulation and relief from certain ailments. As I soaked in the mineral pools, I felt a sense of renewal and rejuvenation, with the heat of the water washing away any stress or fatigue.

Soaking your legs and feet in the soothing watercourse, boiling eggs at the source, enjoying a picnic in the beautiful garden, swimming in the mineral pools, and even indulging in spa options like foot massages – the options for relaxation are endless.

The journey to San Kamphaeng Hot Springs was as delightful as the destination itself. A 45-minute drive from Chiang Mai on Highway 1317 led me through picturesque landscapes, showcasing the stunning mountains and rice paddy fields. The well-maintained roads and clear signage made the journey hassle-free.

As I reflect on my visit to San Kamphaeng Hot Springs, I can’t help but appreciate the combination of natural beauty, relaxation, and wellness that this destination offers. From the invigorating mineral baths to the serene surroundings, every moment spent here was a reminder of the healing power of nature.
